Spicy Ginger Lemonade

Looking for something to drink to help your immune system and upper respiratory system? Try some Spicy Ginger Lemonade!

  • 2 cups of distilled or spring water in a pot and add about 1/4-1/2 cup of dried ginger root. Bring to a simmer and maintain that simmer for about 15 minutes. Turn off the heat and keep it on the warm burner.

  • Add about 2tbsp of dried hyssop and 1 tbsp of dried nettles to the ginger brew. Stir and let cool until it is barely warm to the touch.

  • Juice 3 medium lemons and add juice to a pitcher. Sweeten with honey (preferably local and raw).

  • Strain warm ginger tea mixture into pitcher and add another 1 cup of water.

  • Add a dash or 2 of cayenne pepper.

  • Stir and taste.
