This herb that is very popular and has been used for centuries in Ayurveda, is a bit of an unknown for those who aren't involved in herbalism. But, this beauty packs quite the flex as in what it can do for our health. Making an oil (which we've just started making) helps relieve arthritis pain and inflammation. Using it in tea blends can be useful in relieving some symptoms of anxiety and depression, it helps brain function, helps maintain a healthy cardiovascular system, and aids in balancing blood sugar levels. But, did you know that Holy Basil can also help with your spiritual practice as well? It can aid divination and was known to have been used ages ago to find witches. It smells amazing and has a wonderful flavor when added to teas or food. Now, we have to be careful because this is something that is used heavily in the Ayurvedic tradition of medicine and we don't want to put so much demand on it that it prices it out of the people that have used it for centuries. If you plan on purchasing any, make sure to buy from ethically sourced retailers. Do you use Holy Basil?
