You will find that fresh Borage (latin name is Borago officinalis) leaves are used as a garnish in drinks which is such a waste of it's potential (unless you let it steep or chew them). Did you know that this herb is an antioxidant and an anti-inflammatory? The dry leaves have been brewed in teas/tisanes and utilized as a sedative, a diuretic, a treatment for seizures, and a treatment for kidney disease.
The one thing that you might be most familiar with regarding Borage is it's seed oil that is used as a common supplement. The seed oil of Borage is loaded with GLA (gamma-linolenic acid) which is an amazing Omega-6 fatty acid to help maintain healthy skin, reduce inflammation and support hormone balance. The oil can be used to treat eczema and rheumatoid arthritis topically.
Now, what can it be used for in witchcraft? It can be used for courage, peace, and/or harmony spells and rituals. It's also a great altar offering to bring luck and power to your spells. Borage oil or tea can also be used to consecrate weapons and an incense made from Borage can be used to call upon warrior gods.
